Los Angeles, CA - Jan 2007 - Bert-Co, a key manufacturer of folding cartons, point-of-purchase materials and packaging, has released their annual holiday card. The purpose of the card is to show-off the company's latest innovative capabilities. The card is completely unique, from concept through production, and is solely manufactured in both of their plants located in Los Angeles and Pulaski, Tennessee. Only exclusive customers and vendor receive this high-end card.
This year's theme is an "Ice-House" showing a warm fire place in the center. Made from 15pt PVC, the Ice-House comes complete with chimney, rounded doorway with matching windows. Measuring 5"x3"x14"h, it comes flat with a matching dove card (for signing) and instruction sheet. All parts are inserted into a beautiful rainbow holographic foil board envelope with a detached lid.
The Ice-House is a pop-up structure made of polyvinyl chloride (or PVC, a plastic substrate). Its main feature is the 4 Color Process Litho and Spot Glitter Silk Screen UV which gives the resemblance of snow on the house. Few printers have such capabilities. "We wanted to create the illusion that if you were to touch the house, you would get cold," says Eric Ward, Merchandising Director of P.O.P at Bert-Co. "In the center of the house is the warmest fireplace; the kind of fireplace you would want to curl up next to. The dove, which is Bert-Co's icon through all these years, since the very first holiday card 13 years ago, symbolizes peace and joy," says Ward about the Bert-Co famous Dove that also appears annually. The Dove comes out in various locations, including the windows and the roof top.
Each year as Bert-Co's capabilities increase, so does their holiday card production cost. This year's card has topped off around $35,000 for 2700 cards. Last year's interactive "Snowman" card topped off around $25,000 in production cost alone. "Its more than a marketing piece," says Suzan Kerston, Senior VP, "We get calls thanking us for their gift. And, we do ensure that it does touch and feel like a well-thought-out gift, complete with a personalized poem to tie everything together."
Even the envelope has an attractive, eye-catching design. It is a two part piece, where the "wave" lid is completely detached from the body and only sealing the envelope to keep it from coming off. All designs are created at Bert-Co's corporate head quarters while the production of the envelope was done twenty-eight hundred miles away in their Tennessee location.
Bert-Co creates designs and produces a wide range of custom printed products including packaging and point-of-purchase materials. Bert-Co has won numerous awards in the past 75 years. They are best known for their fast turnaround times, with full service plants in Los Angeles, California and Pulaski, Tennessee. Both facilities are ISO 9001:2000.
