High Gloss Makes Bert-Co Shine

Los Angeles, CA - March 2007 - Bert-Co, a key manufacturer of folding cartons, point-of-purchase materials and packaging, announces its new large format coater. The Sakuri Silk Screen UV coater has been in production in Bert-Co's Los Angeles facility for 9 months. Their second facility in Pulaski, Tennessee will have its own silk screen coater by June of this year. This Sakuri Silk Screen UV coater has already completed jobs on various dvd slip cases, gourmet food cartons, and cosmetic folding cartons.

The Sakuri coater will accept sheets up to 56". It has a variety of coating options, such as high gloss, mattes, dulls, glitter coating, and the eye-pleasing pearlescent coating that comes from shells giving the finished look a true pearl effect. The most popular coating Bert-Co clients ask about is the high gloss. Examples of the high gloss can be seen in the Borba heath and beauty product line. The coater machine is able to feed sheets from 70 lb paper to 40 point paperboard. Coating speeds is half that of a 40" coater, however the large sheet allows for more up on a sheet. "Now it becomes a matter of volume verses more sheets," says Vince.
